The best video format for the Sprint Samsung Instinct is the MPEG4 format. There's a free video format converter called Pazera Free PSP Video Converter 1.1. It doesn't appear to have any adware or other nuisance prompts built into it. It's available at:

Simply follow the instructions for converting a video, setting the bit rate and other options. Here are some suggested settings:
Ouput Format - MP4(MPEG-4/AAC)
Resolution - Custom
Bitrate - 600
Width - 432
Height - 324
Cropping
Top - 42
Bottom - 42
If the black bars at the top and bottom are the same this will work for most videos.
You can then use the Sprint transfer program and place them into the "Media" folder.
