Channel Stays Alive When One Peer of an Active Channel Unexpectedly Drops

When one peer of an active channel unexpectedly loses the connection (ex :disconnect from network, power shortage etc.), the channel stays alive.  After the extension trieds to login again, when it's called you get the message "the extension number xxxx is on the phone, please ....."  The extension can still make outgoing calls.

If this is a SIP peer you can add the following to sip_general_custom.conf:

 

rtptimeout=120

 

This will disconnect a call when no audio is received for 120 seconds.
